Kashgar is amazing. Delicious fresh bread is everywhere (along with
copious amounts of mutton, in both good and bad ways)! Women cover
their heads and the mosque is the center of town. The weather is in
the '80s and '90s but nowhere near the misery of humid Chongqing. The
air actually cools down at night and gives way to fresh and lovely
mornings. It feels like another country altogether.
We went out to the mountains yesterday and spent the night with a
Kyrgyz family in a traditional mud brick house on the shores of the
beautiful Karakul lake at 11,600 feet! An indelible experience for sure.
